Engines that operate through internal combustion rely on large amounts of clean air to ensure the fuel burns properly and generates the power needed to drive the vehicle. At J C Automotives in Morningside, we understand how vital it is to keep your car's air filter in good condition as part of protecting your engine's health. Your engine requires extremely clean air to function efficiently. Dirt, dust, and other particles entering the engine can cause serious damage. That’s where the air filter comes into play. It ensures the air entering the combustion chambers is clean, shielding key engine components such as the pistons and cylinders from wear and damage. Why Replace Your Air Filter? Save on Fuel Costs: Your engine requires the correct balance of fuel and air to run efficiently. A clogged air filter restricts airflow, causing your engine to run inefficiently – often referred to as ‘running rich.’ This not only puts additional stress on your engine but can also increase fuel consumption by up to 10%. No one likes spending more on petrol than necessary! Protect Your Engine: Over time, air filters become clogged and weaker, increasing the risk of damage. A damaged or overly dirty air filter can allow harmful particles to enter the engine, potentially leading to expensive repairs. Benefits of Replacing Your Air Filter: Extends the life of your engine Improves fuel efficiency Reduces vehicle emissions At J C Automotives, we always check the condition of your air filter during every full car service. Whether it’s a major or minor service, or one that follows your manufacturer’s handbook or logbook guidelines, you can trust us to keep your engine running smoothly.

Keep your engine healthy with clean air filters. Improve fuel efficiency, reduce emissions, and extend engine life. Visit J C Automotives for expert maintenance and reliable car servicing.

If the work done on your vehicle involves the supply of services from another service provider nominated by the Repco Authorised Service centre, the warranty offered by such service provider will replace this Nationwide Warranty to the extent of such goods .  The Repco Authorised Service centre will advise you of the terms and conditions of such warranty. When it comes to keeping your car reliable, safe, and running at its best, regular servicing is essential. But one of the most common questions we get at J C Automotives is: “How often should I actually service my car?” The answer depends on a few factors—but if you’re driving in Brisbane conditions, there are some clear guidelines you should follow. The General Rule Most modern vehicles should be serviced every: 10,000 to 15,000 kilometres, or Every 6 to 12 months (whichever comes first) Even if you don’t drive much, time-based servicing is just as important as distance. Why? Because engine oil, fluids, and components still degrade over time—even when the car isn’t being used regularly. Why Brisbane Driving Conditions Matter Driving in Brisbane isn’t the same as driving in cooler or rural areas. Local conditions can actually put extra stress on your vehicle, including: Hot weather causing faster oil breakdown Stop-start traffic increasing engine wear Short trips that don’t fully warm up the engine Humidity affecting electrical components That’s why sticking to your service schedule—or even servicing slightly earlier—can save you money in the long run. What About Logbook Servicing? If your car is still under warranty, it’s critical to follow the manufacturer’s logbook service intervals. The good news? You don’t have to go back to the dealership. At J C Automotives, we carry out logbook servicing to manufacturer specifications, which means: Your warranty stays protected You get high-quality parts and oils You receive personalised, honest service Signs Your Car Might Need a Service Sooner Even if you’re within your service interval, your car may be telling you it needs attention. Watch out for: Warning lights on the dashboard Rough or sluggish performance Unusual noises (knocking, squealing) Increased fuel consumption Vibrations while driving If you notice any of these, it’s best to get your car checked sooner rather than later. Why Regular Car Servicing Saves You Money (And What Happens If You Skip It) Delaying a service might seem harmless—but over time, it can lead to bigger (and more expensive) problems that could have easily been avoided. When a vehicle isn’t serviced regularly, small issues can quickly turn into major repairs, including: Dirty engine oil causing increased engine wear Blocked filters reducing performance and fuel efficiency Worn components going unnoticed until they fail A higher risk of breakdowns—often at the worst possible time On the flip side, sticking to a regular service schedule helps keep your car running at its best and saves you money in the long run. A well-maintained car: Runs more efficiently Uses less fuel Lasts longer Maintains a higher resale value At J C Automotives, we focus on preventative maintenance—identifying and fixing small problems early, before they turn into costly repairs. Not Sure When Your Car Is Due? If you’re unsure when your next service is due, we’re happy to help. Get in touch with J C Automotives today and we’ll check your service schedule and keep your car running at its best.

When it comes to keeping your car reliable, safe, and running at its best, regular servicing is essential.
